Jenna Nicole Mourey, better known by her online alias Jenna Marbles, is an American and a former YouTube personality. She was born on September 15, 1986. Her channel on YouTube has amassed over 20 million subscribers and approximately 1.7 billion video views over the course of its ten-year existence. Rochester, New York is the city where Mourey was both born and raised. After that, she made the move to Boston, Massachusetts, where she attended Boston University for her Master of Education degree and Suffolk University for her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. During the summer of 2010, Mourey lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with two other roommates in an apartment that had three bedrooms. She maintained her financial stability by tending bar, working at a tanning salon, vlogging, and performing go-go dance routines in nightclubs. In that same year, Mourey began her career as a writer for Barstool Sports. She initially contributed to the StoolLaLa website, which is geared specifically toward women.

In 2011, she resigned from her position at the publication. The video “How to Trick People into Thinking You’re Good Looking,” which Mourey uploaded to YouTube in 2010, was one of the first of his videos to gain traction on the platform. In its first week, the video was viewed approximately 5.3 million times. In August 2011, her video entitled “How to Avoid Talking to People You Don’t Want to Talk To” was featured in both The New York Times and ABC News.
In the video, she can be heard saying, “I’m sick and tired of guys thinking that just because I showed up at a club or a dance or a bar I want to have their genitalia touching my backside. After her mother expressed frustration that a Google search for “Mourey” only returned results for Jenna’s videos, Mourey decided to publish her work under the alias Jenna Marbles. When Jenna’s first video went viral, her mother was out of work, and she worried that the video’s content might discourage prospective employers from hiring her daughter.
The origin of the name “Marbles” lies in the fact that her dog’s name was Mr. Marbles. Mourey played the role of Eve in the episode of Epic Rap Battles of History titled “Adam vs. Eve,” and she also appeared in Smosh: The Movie, The Annoying Orange, and Ridiculousness. Alongside fellow YouTube personalities Bart Baker and Brittany Furlan, Mourey was highlighted in the music video for “Fireball” by the rapper Pitbull.
In 2015, Mourey became the first YouTube personality to have her likeness appear as a wax figure displayed at Madame Tussauds New York, which she unveiled at the same time as the creators of the channel Smosh on YouTube. Mourey did so alongside the creators of the channel Smosh. Following allegations that he had used blackface and displayed racist attitudes, Mourey published an apology video on June 25, 2020.

In April 2021, Mourey announced her intention to marry her long-time companion Julien Solomita. They tied the knot in the month of November 2022. An intruder broke into the home of Mourey and Solomita in January 2023, and after being subdued by pepper spray and taken into custody, the intruder was apprehended.
