Raven is an American professional wrestler who was born Scott Levy on September 8, 1964. He is better known by his ring name, which is Raven. His appearances in professional wrestling promotions such as ExtremeChampionship Wrestling (ECW), World Championship Wrestling (WCW), World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling have made him well-known in the industry (TNA).  Raven is known for his “psychological heel tactics” and grunge-inspired gimmick.

He is also widely recognized as “one of the best talkers in wrestling.”  It has been said that his feud with The Sandman, which took place in the middle of the 1990s, was “one of the most emotionally charged rivalries in the history of professional wrestling.” His 37 title reigns in WWE, WCW, ECW, and TNA make him one of the most decorated wrestlers in the history of the sport. BIOGRAPHY:

In 2022, Raven was inducted into the Impact Hall of Fame after a career spanning more than eight years in the promotion formerly known as Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and now known as Impact Wrestling. Levy was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is the son of Paul F. Levy, a journalist and senior editor at The National Enquirer. Levy is of Jewish descent, and he is the senior editor at The National Enquirer. In 1982, he received his high school diploma from Lake Worth Community High School.  After graduating from the University of Delaware with a degree in criminal justice, he went on to pursue a career in the field.

He enlisted as a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve and took a semester off from college as a result. After receiving a degree in criminal justice from the University of Delaware, Levy began his training to become a professional wrestler under the tutelage of Larry Sharpe at the Monster Factory in New Jersey. On February 20, 1988, Levy made his debut in the ring against Jimmy Jack Funk. Early in his career, Levy competed for the World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico as well as the promotion Continental Wrestling Association, which was based in Memphis, Tennessee. There, under the ring name “Scotty the Body,” he was given the gimmick of being Missy Hyatt’s “boy toy,” and she used him to her and Eddie Gilbert’s advantage.

Levy also wrestled for the World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico. Following his departure from Memphis, Levy competed in the wrestling scene in Florida.  After that, Levy went to Canada, where he wrestled for the promotion All-Star Wrestling, which was based in Vancouver, British Columbia, for a short time before quitting due to disagreements with the promotion’s owner, Al Tomko. After that, he traveled back to the United States and signed on with Pacific Northwest Wrestling, which is based out of Portland, Oregon.

Over the course of the subsequent three years, he established himself as a prominent heel by collecting all of the titles and engaging in an intense feud with Steve Doll. Taylor Made served as his manager in the Pacific Northwest. Following a short hiatus from wrestling competition, he made his comeback to PNW as a face and immediately began feuding with The Grappler.  Levy made a number of appearances during the summer of 1989 as “Matman,” a Batman-inspired character who teamed up with Beetlejuice. These appearances were made while Levy wore a mask. In October of 1990, Levy made a one-time appearance on WWF Prime Time Wrestling while wrestling under the ring name Scotty the Body. He competed against Koko B. Ware but was unsuccessful.

After Levy left PNW, he joined the Global Wrestling Federation, which is based in Dallas, Texas. There, he took the ring name “Scott Anthony,” and he began competing. Along with Cactus Jack, Makhan Singh, Rip Rogers, and Max Andrews, Levy was a member of the criminal organization that went by the name “The Cartel.” Alongside play-by-play commentators Craig Johnson and Scott Hudson, Levy also acted in the capacity of a color commentator for the televised broadcasts of the GWF that were shown on ESPN. Raven made an appearance on the episode of Impact! that aired on December 6, 2018, playing the role of a mental patient who assisted Eddie Edwards in escaping from Sandy Acres mental hospital by providing Edwards with a key card to exit the facility.

Raven made an unexpected appearance on the episode of Impact! that aired on January 3, 2019, and assisted Tommy Dreamer in his assault on Eli Drake. Raven made an appearance on March 31, 2020, during the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling Special! She assisted Tommy Dreamer during an altercation with oVe, which occurred after oVe attacked Dreamer by hitting him with a kendo stick following a match between Rhino and Madman Fulton. The match was the conclusion of a wrestling match between Rhino and Madman Fulton.

At the Against All Odds event that took place on July 1, 2022, Raven made her return to Impact Wrestling in the capacity of a special guest commentator for the Clockwork Orange House of Fun match that featured Moose and Sami Callihan. At a press conference held at Victory Road on September 23, 2022, it was revealed that Raven would be inducted into the Impact Hall of Fame the following year. Raven was inducted into the Hall of Fame by Tommy Dreamer on October 7 at Bound for Glory, during the pre-show portion of the event.
