Henderson grew up in North Richland Hills, Texas, after being born in Temple, Texas. His mother is a pharmacist, and his father is a school therapist. Before relocating to California at the age of 18 to pursue an acting career, he had a role as “Teenage Boy #2” on the television show Friday Night Lights.

Elevate, their second album, was released on November 21, 2011. “Time of Our Lives” was written by Henderson and Nicholas “Ras” Furlong. Henderson also co-wrote three more songs: “Music Sounds Better With U,” “Love Me Love Me,” and “Superstar.” 24/Seven, the band’s third album, was released on June 11, 2013.
Many of the tracks on this album were co-written by Henderson, including the album’s title track “24/Seven.” Henderson took a three-year pause after the band’s hiatus in 2014 to focus on his personal life. He released his debut solo song “Sleepwalker” in December 2016. The track, which was released on January 27, 2017, established a new sound for the musician, which producer Nicholas Furlong described as a “dark grunge pop vibe,” which was a change from B.T.R.’s previous work.
On September 15, 2017, he released his second song, “Bite My Tongue,” which continued the style of his debut solo release. On October 30, 2017, a third single, “Speak of the Devil,” was released as a digital download. On February 15, 2018, he released a single named “Acoustic Sessions,” which featured acoustic versions of his first three singles.
On social media in 2018, the singer teased the release of his upcoming debut album by uploading photos from the photo shoot, including one with the album’s track list. Henderson announced the title of his debut album, Echoes of Departure and the Endless Street of Dreams – Pt. 1, on May 14, 2018, with a May 18, 2018 release date.
“Pull Me Deep,” his album’s lead track, was released on August 14, 2018, and reached number 40 on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40. As a lyricist and record producer, the majority of his songs’ lyrics are inspired by his personal experiences and those of others. His debut EP was focused on tackling difficult personal issues in order to find closure and reap the benefits of becoming comfortable with vulnerability.
