American television personality and private investigator Derrick Levasseur was born in Providence, Rhode Island, on February 3, 1984. He hails from the city of Providence. His victory in the 16th season of the reality television series Big Brother in 2014 is what he is best known for. On March 31, 2016, Levasseur confirmed that he would be a part of the upcoming series Hard Evidence: Is OJ Innocent that will be broadcast on Investigation Discovery. The series will be produced by Martin Sheen. Before joining the Big Brother cast, Levasseur served as a law enforcement official in the city of Central Falls, Rhode Island. On Investigation Discovery’s show Breaking Homicide, which ran for two seasons, he was a host for the first season. In addition, Derrick is a co-host on two different podcasts. One of them, titled Crime Weekly, focuses on true crime and is a collaboration with YouTuber Stephanie Harlowe. The other, titled The Winner’s Circle, is a collaboration with fellow Big Brother winner Cody Calafiore and examines the most recent season of Big Brother. On Day 2, Levasseur and another Houseguest named Cody Calafiore formed an alliance that they called “The Hitmen.” They also made a final two deals together.

Levasseur was also a part of the alliance known as Team America along with fellow HouseGuests Frankie Grande and Donny Thompson, and the three of them were able to earn a total of $75,000 by successfully completing the tasks that were decided upon by online voters. Levasseur won Head of Household (HOH) in weeks 3, 8, 10, and 12. Three out of those four weeks found him solely in control of the HOH position. As a result, he is the first HouseGuest to achieve this feat since Danielle Reyes and Jason Guy, both of whom competed in Big Brother 3, as he did not sit on the block until the Final Three. On the night of the finale, Calafiore won Head of Household, and he made the decision to take Levasseur with him to the final two. Levasseur ended up winning the game with a jury vote of 7-2, and he was awarded $500,000 for his victory. Because of this, in addition to the prize money that Levasseur had earned for Team America in the past, he ended up with a grand total of $575,000. After being hired as a police officer at the age of only twenty, he held positions in both the Patrol Division and the Detective Division, making him one of the youngest officers in the history of the department. After that, he was given a position as an undercover detective in the Special Investigations Unit. In this capacity, he was able to collaborate with the ATF, DEA, FBI, and US Secret Service, which led to a significant increase in the number of arrests and seized items. In addition to his practical experience, he possesses extensive training in the investigation of crime scenes, methods of interviewing and interrogating witnesses, and conducting undercover operations. During his shift as a patrol officer in April 2007, Derrick responded to a 911 call for assistance. When he arrived, the caller informed him that Selvin M. Garrido Morales had brought a knife with him and was attempting to stab his friend as well as his girlfriend.
After being confronted by Levasseur and the other officers, Morales brandished a knife and charged at the officers in an attempt to attack them. Levasseur was the one who shot and killed Morales, but Derrick told the police that it was a suicide. A grand jury exonerated him and the other officers involved in the incident of any wrongdoing they may have committed. Derrick has been recognized for his service throughout the course of his career with a number of awards, including letters of recognition, unit citations, commendations, and the Medal of Valor, which is the highest honor that can be bestowed upon a sworn officer. Following his heroic actions in 2017, which included rescuing seven people from a burning building, he was presented with the “Hero Award” by the American Red Cross. Levasseur served in the police force for a total of 13 years. In 2017, he took early retirement in order to launch Break Investigative Group, his own private investigation firm.
