Alexis Christine Haines is a member of the “Bling Ring” as well as a former television personality. She was born on June 20, 1991, and her birth name was Neiers. Haines asserted that he was intoxicated during the break-in at Bloom’s house and “not sure what was going on.” Nick Prugo, one of the co-defendants, recalled a different account of the events, stating that Haines was fully aware that a burglary was taking on, and he is seen entering inside the Bloom property on a security video film. Prugo claimed that Haines was involved in the burglary.  During the course of their investigation, the Haines family discovered a Chanel necklace that belonged to Lohan as well as a Marc Jacobs handbag that had belonged to Bilson. In the beginning, Haines denied that the items were stolen.

It appeared Haines was arrested on the set of a reality show Pretty Wild, during the recording of the pilot episode, but she and her mother revealed in the 2022 Netflix three-part docuseries The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist that the arrest had taken place out of the camera’s view. In reality, the incident that was shown in the episode was a complete fabrication concocted by the production team at E! Haines also stated that she was one of the tipsters that helped implicate Prugo in the surveillance footage that was shown on TMZ. This information was provided by Haines.

In the two documentaries that chronicle the events surrounding the “Bling Ring,” both of which bear the same name, Haines has made an appearance. The first adaptation is a made-for-television movie that was shown for the first time in 2011 on the network Lifetime. The character based on her is called Maddie Bishop, and Spencer Locke plays her. British actress Emma Watson plays Haines in the Sofia Coppola-directed 2013 film, wherein she is renamed Nicolette “Nicki” Moore. The film had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, and it was made available in theatres across the country on June 21, 2013.

Haines believes that her role in the break-ins is misrepresented in the movie and has stated that the portrayal of her in the movie is false.  Haines also called out Watson for unfavorable comments Watson made about Haines’ role in the film, claiming she expected more empathy given the public understanding that Haines had been sexually molested and was battling heroin addiction. Mikel Neiers, a well-known Hollywood cinematographer who is most recognized for his work as the director of photography on the television shows Friends and Spin City, is Haines’ father.  as well as Andrea Arlington, who is a model and actress who was in the 1980s television show Playboy.

Haines had been booted out of the home she shared with her mother and stepfather prior to the burglaries. After the episode of Pretty Wild aired, a number of pictures that Haines and her co-star Tess Taylor had not given their permission to publish were made available on the website TheDirty.com. Even when legal counsel demanded that the photographs, which depicted the ladies smoking bongs and what seemed to be heroin, be removed from the blog, the proprietor of the site, writer Nik Richie, refused.

After being arrested for possession of black tar heroin and a phony Florida identification card in 2010, Haines was sentenced to one year of treatment at the SOBA Recovery clinic in Malibu, California. She began her time there in December of that year. Both were uncovered as a result of Haines’ failure to check in with her probation officer as required while she was on probation for her involvement in the “Bling Ring.” As a result, officers paid a visit to her apartment and conducted a search of the premises.  Taylor came to see her in rehab, although for a short period of time, for reasons that are unconnected to her situation.

Haines took part in an episode of Nik Richie radio that aired on TheDirty.com on December 8, 2011, and Haines was one of the guests. During the time that she was filming Pretty Wild, she admitted that she was addicted to heroin, Xanax, alcohol, and OxyContin. She stated that when she was not working on the show, she could be seen “living in a Best Western hotel,” getting high and panhandling for money on the streets.

She claims that being sexually assaulted as a young child, which she says contributed to her drug problems, combined with her problems with her father, an incidence of rape, and a partner who also used, contributed to her drug problems. She was sexually abused when she was a young child.  In 2011, she stated that she no longer speaks to Taylor, but in 2019, Taylor appeared on Haines’s podcast Recovering from Reality to explain her own recovery from heroin addiction.
