Olive Marie Osmond (born October 13, 1959) is an American singer, actress, author, philanthropist, and talk show host who is a member of the Osmond family of show business. She had popularity as a solo country music performer in the 1970s and 1980s, while never being a member of her family’s singing group. A version of the country pop ballad “Paper Roses” is her most well-known song. She presented the television variety show Donny & Marie with her singer brother Donny Osmond from 1976 until 1979.
Olive Marie Osmond was born in Ogden, Utah, to Olive May ( 1925–2004) and George Virl Osmond (1917–2007), the eighth of nine children (and the only daughter). She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was growing up. Virl, Tom, Alan, Wayne, Merrill, Jay, Donny, and Jimmy Osmond are some of her brothers.
Her brothers began singing and performing on national television when they were little. When she was four years old, Osmond made her television debut as part of her brothers’ act, the Osmond Brothers, on The Andy Williams Show, but she rarely performed with them in the 1960s. Music Is Medicine, Osmond’s most recent album, was unveiled in late 2015 via social media.

Several American tabloids claimed she attempted suicide in August 2006. Her publicist rejected the reports, claiming that she experienced an allergic response to a drug she was taking.
On May 4, 2011, Osmond wedded her first husband, Stephen Craig, in a tiny ceremony at the Las Vegas Nevada Temple in her wedding gown from 1982.Michael Osmond committed suicide on February 26, 2010, by jumping from the eighth floor of his Los Angeles apartment building.
