Baby Heather is a professional burlesque dancer, singer, model, filmmaker, producer, and podcast presenter who was born Heather Henderson on March 7, 1973. Baby Heather is also known by her stage name. She is a proponent of skepticism and atheism in addition to being a member of Penn Jillette’s No God Band and performing with them. The religion and inspiration category of The People’s Choice Podcast Awards was won by Ardent Atheist, a podcast hosted by Henderson, in the year 2012. Between the years 1989 and 1991, Henderson was a consistent performer on the television show Dance Party USA. During her teenage years, she published a track titled “Give It Up Baby Heather,” which was praised by Billboard magazine after it was initially released.

Camden, New Jersey was the location of Henderson’s birth on March 7th, 1973.  Her Jewish mother was originally from Hungary.  In 1983, when Henderson was just 10 years old, her father moved out of the family home. She had all three of her formal educations at the Camden City Public Schools: elementary, middle, and high school.  She was a “shy and quiet girl” who did not talk back and listened to, and believed whatever her mother told her: “I did not grow up with any critical thinking abilities at all.” She did not challenge her mother’s statements. When Heather was 23 years old, Henderson’s mother passed away in 1996.

Heather Henderson biography/Wiki

Ed Henderson, Henderson’s father, was a musician who did not get formal musical training and worked as an EKG technician. When Heather was seventeen years old, he left that employment in order to pursue a career as a musician, singing and playing the guitar and banjo full-time. When Henderson was seven years old, she and her father began singing together. Additionally, she was skilled in the violin. When Henderson was little, she always knew that she wanted to be “a star.” She made her debut in a statewide competition for teenagers called Dance Party USA when she was only fifteen years old.

Baby Heather was the nickname that fans gave her during her three years of consistent participation on the show.  Her go-to artists were Prince and Milli Vanilli, and Michael J. Fox was her favorite actor. She loved his comedic timing. As a result of Henderson’s mother’s participation in Jews for Jesus, the family started going to progressive Christian churches. Because of the way in which the congregation members were handled, attending these churches made Henderson feel very uneasy. She remarked, “I had the impression that they were hypocrites.” Henderson claims that they made fun of others who were financially disadvantaged as well as a family that had a member who suffered from a mental impairment.

In addition to this, they demanded “money constantly” and intimidated the children by warning them that God is always watching them and that if they don’t behave, they will be sent to hell. “It was a terrible experience for me.” As soon as she was of age to do so, Henderson informed her mother that she would never go back to going to church. In 2011, Henderson and some of his buddies relocated to Los Angeles. She arranged a fundraiser for herself with her friends in the burlesque community, and those friends gave their time and talent for a one-night event so that she could gather money to buy a plane ticket. From 1989 through 1991, Henderson appeared as a regular dancer on the locally broadcast television show Dancin’ on Air as well as the nationally broadcast Dance Party USA.

During her final year, she took on the role of co-host. In addition, Henderson has had appearances on Sesame Street, Nickelodeon’s Double Dare, the movie Mannequin Two: On the Move, and Disney’s Annapolis. Henderson is also one of the lead singers for Soulamite, a band that has been a mainstay at Tritone for many years. During the time that Henderson was sixteen years old, she and her father were waiting in line in Philadelphia to attend a Prince performance when they were stopped for an interview.

The reporter said that she had on her left leg a stocking with white and red polka dots and a white boot, and on her right leg, she had on a beige stocking and a black boot. And all of that occurred below the waistline. She was dressed for the cold with a short black jacket and a shirt with ruffles. Ed Henderson had this to say on the manner in which his daughter was dressed: “It’s no big thing.” According to Henderson, this was an acceptable form of dress for the episode of Dance Party USA that she was working on. From 1993 to 2010, Henderson was employed in the erotica industry, where she participated in activities such as stripping, burlesque, foot fetish parties, dominatrix employment, and lap dancing.

She has been quoted as saying, “I’m working hard to become the girl who does everything.” She was confident in her sexuality and had the ambition to pursue a career in the performing arts. She had the idea that this may be an excellent way for her to make money while also expressing herself. Henderson often rocked a mohawk haircut, although he also occasionally shaved his head.  Henderson’s involvement in burlesque began when a friend who was putting on a “variety” show invited her to sing in the background of the performance. “I couldn’t help myself! I made a whole new group of pals, and it was the kind of venue where I could perform everything from the ludicrous to the erotic.

In 2007, Henderson was a member of the Peek-A-Boo Revue burlesque company and made an appearance at the monthly event Pousse Cafe’ in Philadelphia, where she discussed the philosophy underlying her approach to the art form of burlesque. She added that in this milieu, timid women are “dancing around naked and doing cartwheels…” she was referring to the time period. The other employees support one another by boosting each other’s confidence and making sure their egos are taken care of. Performers who are timid at first end up being transformed into bold and fearless actors and dancers.

Burlesque, according to Henderson, is all about making lighthearted jokes about sexuality because “it’s not that serious.” Between the years 2008 and 2009, Henderson worked as a model for Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School Philadelphia branch. She was included in the illustrator Julie Bell’s fantasy art wall calendar for the year 2009, and she has also drawn her portrait. Heavy Metal Magazine featured her on its cover, and Dave Palumbo was the artist responsible for the images. The female model that appeared on the cover of Marvel Comics’ Son of Hulk in 2008 was Henderson. Her Magic: The Gathering card is titled “The Deft Duelist,” and she has her own card in the game called “The Deft Duelist.”

In the book written by Tony Marsico in 2013, titled Wild Things: Burlesque Beauties and the Pets they Love, Henderson was featured as a model. During an interview with Ed Clint for the series “Inspiring Women of TAM 2013,” the question of whether or not she identifies as a feminist was posed to her. According to her, the term is incredibly difficult to understand because there are so many different kinds of feminists. She is aware that there are some people who may feel that males took advantage of her because of the fact that she worked as a stripper for a number of years. She declares herself to be a female by saying, “I’ll just declare myself a woman.” The United Church of Bacon, which was founded in 2010 when a group of friends assembled at the residence of Penn Jillette, has appointed Henderson as an official Friar, also known as a pastor.
