Christopher Alan Young is an American country music singer and songwriter who was born on June 12, 1985. He won Season 4 of USA’s singing competition Nashville Star in 2006.He was signed to RCA Records Nashville after winning the competition, and his self-titled first album was released the same year. “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” and “You’re Gonna Love Me” were two of the album’s singles on Hot Country Songs. On September 1, 2009, he released his second album, The Man I Want to Be. It featured the number one hits “Voices,” “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” and the title track.

Young’s third album, Neon, yielded two additional number ones in 2011 with “Tomorrow” and “You,” as well as the top five single “I Can Take It From There” in 2012. The follow-up, A.M., was released in 2013 and featured three new songs, including “Aw Naw,” “Who I Am with You,” and “Lonely Eyes,” which all charted in the top five. Young became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2017, which is regarded as one of country music’s pinnacles. On the 12th of June, 1985, Chris Young was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church as a child and adolescent. Richard Yates, his grandfather, was a hayride performer.

Young was interested in music since he was a child, performing in a variety of children’s theatre performances; he performed in his high school choir and began playing in local clubs while attending Oakland High School (Tennessee).

In the year 2000, he was a mariachi vocalist with his high school’s Winter Drumline in “A Night at the Palladium.” In Ohio that year, the ensemble competed in the Winter Guard International Tournament. Chris was named a Presidential Scholar of the Arts and National YoungArts winner in 2003.

He continued to tour while in college, putting on over 150 gigs every year. Young was on his way to a tour stop in Montana on August 13, 2013, when he developed septic shock as a result of an infected minor cut on his thigh. He was airlifted to a Denver hospital.

Young was put on antibiotics right away, and he had surgery to address the infection on August 14. Young was treated by his doctor and returned home. His mobility was hampered by the surgery, as expected, and his doctor advised him to rest for a week before returning to touring. On August 22, Young began filming again.

Young had to cancel a concert at the CMA Music Festival in June 2014 after cutting his left hand with a kitchen knife accidently. To reconnect tendons in the hand after the cut, surgery was required. Young has backed Little Kids Rock by giving a variety of goods to be auctioned off in order to raise funds for youngsters to learn to play instruments.

He has donated $35,000 to Stars For Stripes. He is a supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and has generated funds for the hospital by sponsoring a tree at the Gaylord Opryland Resort’s Annual Hall of Trees.  Young donated $25,000 from his own pocket to the Nashville School of Arts on September 8, 2014, along with $5,000 from his fan club.

He set up a fundraising webpage for Houston in late August 2017 to aid the city’s recovery after Hurricane Harvey’s massive floods. Young gave $5000 to a GoFundMe page on October 4, 2018, to assist pay for Granola’s cataract surgery. He sent the money after a fan asked him to help promote the GoFundMe project on Twitter.

On May 12, 2017, he released the first track from his sixth album, “Losing Sleep,” to country radio. On August 23, 2017, Young revealed that the album’s title was likewise Losing Sleep.On February 10, 2018, it debuted as number one on Country Airplay. ‘Hangin’ On’ was the album’s second single.

Young was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on August 29, 2017, after being invited by country icon Vince Gill. Brad Paisley gave him his official induction. The lead song from Young’s seventh studio album, “Raised on Country,” was released in January 2019.

On September 23, 2019, the second single from the album, “Drowning,” was released. On November 20, 2020, the album’s third single, “Famous Friends,” starring Young’s pal Kane Brown, was released. The album was released on August 6, 2021, under the title Famous Friends. On September 13, 2021, the album’s fourth single, “At the End of a Bar,” featuring Mitchell Tenpenny, was released.
