Allison Louise Crowe is a Canadian singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist who is born in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Crowe started to perform in 1996 at the age of fifteen and performed regularly in coffeehouses and pubs on Vancouver Island. Her first music debut was with the EP Lisa’s Song + 6 Songs in 2001. His first long albums, Secrets, and Tidings, was out in 2004.
Crowe grew raised with jazz, classical music, and rock from the Scottish, Irish and Manx background. Additional inspirations such as Ani DiFranco, Pearl Jam, Tori Amos, and Counting Crows have been discovered. She has also been in the top three of the Rock Songwriters, Hymns, Blues, Jazz, Broadway, and British & Celtic Folk lists on Amazon.com’s downloads.
She goes with the guitar and the piano, which she trained technically. She is mostly a soloist but was also a member of ensembles, particularly in a trio format such as Allison Crowe Band (2000-2003) and Allison Crowe + Band (2015 to date). Crowe usually plays her own songs, which were reported as varying between rock, jazz, and folk. Crowe is also applauded for her performances by other composers, including Jerome Kern and Pearl Jam, including Lennon–McCartney and Canadian compatriots, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen.
In August 2004 and November 2005 her version of Cohen’s Hallelujah was chosen Record of the Week by Record of the Day (UK). In 2021, Hollywood filmmaker Zack Snyder, a friend of Crowe’s, stated that the version would be an elegy for his late daughter Autumn Snyder during the end credits of Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
Crowe released The Little Bird in October 2006, which she started recording in her new house in Corner Brook in February 2006. The album was completed on Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. About 4,600 kilometers west. Following a series of concert performances in Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic, she returned home to Canada and selected songs for a new album called Spiral in the summer of 2009.

In July 2011, Crowe released a two-way single with two songs: “Arthur,” a piano original, “Up to the Mountain” (MLK Song), and Patty Griffin’s guitar rendition. A Christmas season concert was taped in Vancouver in December 2011 before an audience including actors and film crew, Man of Steel. Following a concert tour with appearances in Belgium, Germany, and Italy, a live CD Tidings Concert was published in Vancouver on November 25, 2012, chronicling the whole Tidings show.
The release of Sylvan Hour took place on 5 May 2015. This album includes solo songs recorded in a log home in Salt Spring Island, Canada by Allison Crowe. The 13 tunes combine piano with guitar and vocals. . She visited England, Ireland, and Scotland on a performance tour after This Little Bird’s publication. In 2007 her tour featured a series of concerts in the entire Americas and a return to Europe, where she played with Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, Queen’s Master of Music, and Carol Ann Duffy, Laureate of Poetry at the John Lennon Northern Lights Festival in Durness, Scotland.
The event was crowned the “Best New United Kingdom Festival.” In May 2009, after being turned off by UK Border Agency officials at Gatwick Airport for lack of a certificate of sponsorship, she was banned from playing in Edinburgh, Scotland, and London, UK. She resumed her trip to Germany days later. Two one-hour specials on TV have been shown across Canada with Ms. Allison Crowe: special news television broadcast since 2003 every December.
Crowe played a cameo part in 2013 as the ‘Singer at Cassidy’s,’ in the big movie Man of Steel, the reboot of the Superman movie series, and the first installation in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe. Crowe would appear in Snyder’s 2013 film Man of Steel, where she could be seen playing “Ring of Fire” by Johnny Cash and recording her singer Hallelujah at the Zack Snyder Justice League’s final credits.
The original song “Whether I’m Wrong,” composed in early 2003, featured the UNESCO-supported New Songs for a Peace initiative. Following learning how the conventional recording industry worked, she began her own record label, Rubenesque Records Ltd, inspired by the examples from Ani DiFranco and Loreena McKennitt, and Creative Commons licensing new options for musicians.
The label was added in 2001 and started operations with the publication of an EP in 2003. Allison Crowe is preparing an original poetry and prose book with a publication announced at the end of 2018. The publishing of the book has now been postponed. Allison Crowe duet with Richard Cheese plays Viva Las Vegas, a zombi-heist film by director Zack Snyder released on May 14, 2021, in the title scene of Army of the Dead, on May 14, 2021.
In May 2012, Crowe performed “Hallelujah” live at Leonard Cohen’s world premiere The Doorway – Scenes, made and choreographed by Jorden Morris and artistic direction by Andre Lewis with the Canadian Royal Winnipeg Ballet (RWB). Crowe performed with the ballet company “Hallelujah,” “Sisters of Mercy, and “Bird on the Wire” once more on stage at the RWB’s November 2012 tour of The Doorway
