Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Charles Rodgers, was born in Chico, California, U.S.A., on December 2, 1983. He is an American professional football gridiron quarterback, regarded to be one of the biggest players ever in the field. He guided the National Football League (NFL) Green Bay Packers to a 2011 super bowl championship.
Although Rodgers was a quarterback standout of Pleasant Valley High School, he was not extensively sought by university soccer teams. He spent a year at Butte College in the neighboring hamlet of Oroville before moving to Berkeley University in 2003.
He immediately took over as the beginning quarterback for the Golden Bears and in 2004 he led the team into a record 10–2 and a ninth place in the final Associated Press poll of the season. In the first round of the 2005 NFL draught, Rodgers was selected for the first-team All-Pacific-10 Conference.
He subsequently began a long apprenticeship as Brett Favre’s backup quarterback. Rodgers saw extremely minimal play in its first three seasons (2005-07) in the league and only appeared in seven games. This changed in 2008 when Favre was moved to the New York Jets after a harsh downfall with team management and the offense of the Packers was given to the Rodgers.
He soon proved to be Favre’s replacement, throwing 4,038 yards and 28 touchdowns this season. Rodgers was handed a contract extension of 65 million dollars for six years, and in 2009 he continued to stellarly cross over for 4,434 meters and 30 touchdowns, bringing Packers to 11-5 records, and to a playoff berth.
He became the only NFL player in his first two years to launch consecutive 4,000-yard throwing campaigns. He also scored 103.2, second in the team history, behind the 1966 total of 105.0 by Bart Starr, in 2009, and was picked as Pro Bowl’s player.
BIOGRAPHY:
Rodgers led the Packers in 2010 to a 10-6 regular season and a berth as the sixth seed team at the National Football Conference (NFC). During the postseason the club helped ensure a position in the Super Bowl by winning the top three seeds in the NFC—including a victory over rival Chicago Bears in the conference championship game.
He completed 24 out of 39 throw attempts at 304 yards and three touchdowns, without an interception, which contributed to Green Bay winning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) prize for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rodgers was one of the biggest quarterback seasons of all time in 2011 with his Super Bowl victory.
He led the Packers to a 13–0 start and completed the regular season with 45 touch-downs, 4,643 yards, and an NFL record of 122.5 passers-by. For his amazing year, Rodgers won the NFL MVP award, but his team underperformed in the playoffs.
Having lost only one regular-season match, the Packers were defeated by the eventual champion New York Giants at home in their first post-season contest. He again topped the NFL in 2012 (108.0) and led the Packers to a title of division.
Rodgers lost seven regular seasons 2013 games with a broken collarbone but returned to the regular-season finale versus the Bears to lead a game-winning fourth-quarter drive which clinched the packers’ division. In 2014 he tossed his second NFL MVP Prize for 4,381 yards, 38 touchdowns, and just 5 interceptions.
Next year Rodgers led Green Bay to the top seventh playoff in a row, but he had the worst rating of his years as a quarter-back start in full (92.7). In 2016 he rebounded and led the NFL with a total of 40. Rodgers was restricted to seven games in the 2017 season with a broken collarbone, and its absence led to the end of the 8-year playoff series of the packers.
In all 16 of the Packers’ games in 2018, he took 25 touchdowns for 2 interceptions, although Green Bay fought on defense, finishing with a record of 6–9–1 to miss the playoffs again. Those deceitful seasons led to a change in off-season coaching, and a refurbished Packers group won 13 games in 2019 as Rodgers threw 4.002 yards and 26 touchdowns. Green Bay won their first playoff game in the following post-season but lost it in the NFC championship game to the San Francisco 49ers.
