BIOGRAPHY:

Helbig started his academic career at Ramapo College in Mahwah, New Jersey, in 2003. In 2015, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in digital filmmaking from Ramapo’s School of Contemporary Arts. It was there that she and her best friend, Michelle Akin, came up with the idea for a sketch comedy group and gave it the name Baked Goods. Classes in improv were offered at the Peoples Improv Theater in New York City, which she attended. In 2005, she competed in the Miss New Jersey USA pageant and advanced to the semi-finals of the competition. Helbig provided home-sitting services to a family in South Orange, New Jersey, in the month of November 2007. She started keeping a daily video of her house-sitting experience on her personal YouTube channel, which is called GracieHInABox, in order to prevent herself from becoming bored and to keep herself entertained. Grace n’ Michelle was initially developed as a YouTube channel by Helbig and her college roommate Michelle Akin (née Vargas) beginning in March of 2008.

The most recent video to be uploaded to this channel was taken on October 25, 2013, and it shows Helbig paying a visit to Akin in Brooklyn. At the beginning of 2008, Helbig provided the narration for the R-rated animated online series Bedtime Stories on My Damn Channel, which aired for only a few episodes. The series was a parody of traditional fairy tales. Rob Barnett, creator, and CEO of My Damn Channel came across her personal video blogs through her profile and offered her the chance to host her own video blog web series on the My Damn Channel website. Rob Barnett discovered her videos through her profile.

This eventually evolved into DailyGrace, which made its debut on April 14, 2008, and new episodes are released on a daily basis during the week.  DailyGrace got its own YouTube channel on October 11, 2010, when it was officially launched. On YouTube, the channel has more than 2.4 million members and over 211 million video views at the end of the month of December 2013. Over the course of the series’ existence, which began in April 2008 and continued through December 2013, Helbig produced more than 830 episodes of DailyGrace for the DailyGrace YouTube channel. These episodes are in addition to the 690 DailyGrace episodes that had been published exclusively on the My Damn Channel website (i.e., all episodes up to October 8, 2010, as well as additional extra videos after that date).

From the beginning of March 2012 until the beginning of January 2013, Helbig was the weekly host of My Damn Channel LIVE from the New York City studio of the corporation (the remaining weekday episodes were hosted by Beth Hoyt). In November 2013, the program was brought back to life in a weekly format as My Damn Channel LIVE: Hangout. Helbig made a few appearances during this revival by participating in video chats from the studio in Los Angeles. On Friday, September 13, 2013, Helbig made the debut of her weekly web series Grace’s Faces on the recently launched YouTube channel I love cosmetics, which was developed by beauty expert Bobbi Brown.

The show ran for a total of twenty-four episodes before coming to a conclusion on March 7, 2014. One Thing You Didn’t Know About Me From Last Week is a weekly additional DailyGrace series that debuted on November 4, 2013, and is only available on the website for My Damn Channel. Helbig termed the series “One Thing You Didn’t Know About Me From Last Week.” The series was concluded on December 2, 2013, after a total of five episodes. Helbig published the concluding episode of her DailyGrace web series on the DailyGrace YouTube channel on December 27, 2013.

After those four days, My Damn Channel issued a statement in which they revealed that Grace Helbig had decided not to renew her multi-year contract with the network and that, going forward, Helbig would not be producing any new content for the DailyGrace YouTube channel. The statement also stated that this decision would take effect immediately. According to My Damn Account, the DailyGrace YouTube channel would continue to be active but only as an archive. The network has plans to release the early episodes of DailyGrace as well as other Helbig content that was previously only available on the My Damn Channel website. In the music video “Barbie Eat a Sandwich,” which was released in 2009, Helbig portrayed the character of Barbie.

The video was created by the band Care Bears on Fire. Helbig had the opportunity to chat with the Fine Brothers back in 2012 at the very first IAWTV Awards. They still needed to find someone to portray the character of Idol in their new web series MyMusic, and while they were meeting with her, they made the offer to put her in the part. The following week, Helbig boarded a flight to Los Angeles to begin filming the first season.  Following that, Helbig made an appearance in the first seven episodes of the second season of the series. Helbig provided the voice for Jeannie Halverstad, the abrasive show host of Cheer Nationals, in the final three episodes of Season 2 Part 2 of the popular web series The Most Popular Girls in School, which aired in July of 2013.

Helbig provided the voice for a new character, Pamela Darabond, in three episodes of Season 3 that aired in March of 2014. Helbig’s performance as Anna in two episodes of the second season of the musical web series Side Effects, which airs on the AwesomenessTV YouTube channel, took place in the months of May and June of 2014. Romeo and Juliet vs. Bonnie and Clyde was the fourth episode of the fourth season of Epic Rap Battles of History. The show aired on November 17, 2014, and featured Helbig and Hannah Hart as Juliet and Bonnie Parker, respectively.

On February 26, 2015, it was announced by a variety of media outlets that Helbig and Hannah Hart would be co-starring in a reboot of the 1970s Sid and Marty Krofft live-action science fiction television series Electra Woman and Dyna Girl. Helbig would be playing the role of Electra Woman, and Hannah Hart would play the role of Dyna Girl. During the months of February and March 2015, the relaunch was filmed in Vancouver under the direction of Chris Marrs Piliero. On March 29, 2016, the official trailer was made available online. On April 26, 2016, the relaunch was made available as an eight-episode online series through the subscription platform maintained by Fullscreen.

On June 7, 2016, it was made available to the public as a feature film of its entire length via a variety of digital media venues. On August 6, 2015, Helbig appeared in a series of online ads for Marriott Hotels & Resorts as part of the company’s “It Pays to Book Direct” ad campaign. The advertisements were aired on the company’s website. In January 2019, Helbig started a romantic connection with Elliott Morgan, who is also a YouTube personality. On the 28th of February, 2021, Helbig revealed to her Instagram followers that she and Morgan have become engaged.  The wedding took place on October 1st, 2022 in Las Vegas, and the pair made the announcement on Instagram the following day.
