Marc Shaiman wrote the music and lyrics for the pseudo-Broadway cast recording, which Columbia released in 2013.He married actress Nicolette Robinson and began working on Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Hamilton, in which he plays Aaron Burr. As a musical version of history, it was inspired by Ron Chernow’s biography of U.S. founding father Alexander Hamilton. Leslie Odom, Jr., a collection of vocal jazz covers of show tunes and popular songs, was released by Odom in 2014.
