After releasing the list of weekly recounts on social media, she was featured on the 2017 Politico 50 list and in 2018, her debut book The List: A Week-by-Week Reckoning of Trump’s First Year was released.
She earned her economics degree from Cornell in 1987. Later, in 1992, she graduated with an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business with a concentration on international business and finance.
She was the voice behind the microphone for The Weekly List. The United States Library of Congress has kept her weekly lists detailing the Trump administration. My most recent work, The Weekly List, has made me famous across the world as the lady responsible for penning the first draught of the history of the United States under Trump. For my work, I was included in the 2017 POLITICO 50, and the resulting book, THE LIST, was a New York Times bestseller and a Washington Post Best Book of 2018. Both the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Pennsylvania and the Library of Congress are preserving the lists and the associated top-rated podcast.
BIOGRAPHY:
In addition to raising millions of dollars for Democratic candidates in Senate and House races, I have also mentored and hosted events for hundreds of women, especially women of color, who are seeking election to office at the municipal, state, and federal levels as part of this project and my activism for democracy. I was also responsible for planning the 2019 We The People March, which took place in 65 different cities and saw over 10,000 people make their way to the U.S. Capitol. After three days, the House finally voted to begin impeachment proceedings against Trump.
I helped launch The New Agenda in 2008, a nationwide group for women concerned with issues including equal pay, sexism in the media, and sexual assault on college campuses, among others. I’m still the President of the organization, and I use my platform to advocate for and advise young women around the country.
My successful Wall Street career preceded my activism; I was the first female managing director at Wasserstein Perella at the age of 31, and I previously managed the trading floors at Morgan Stanley and Imperial Capital, where I was a partner.
Amy Siskind is an advocate for women’s and girls’ empowerment on a national scale. She used to be a high-ranking executive on Wall Street, and now she runs a nationwide organization called The New Agenda, which tackles problems including economic equality, discrimination based on gender, and sexual assault on college campuses. While continuing her work as one of the most observant and outspoken critics of our faltering but not yet stalled democracy, Amy is now also an outspoken advocate for equality.
Amy is the driving force behind The New Agenda’s annual events and regularly gives talks to college students and young professionals about financial independence and career advancement when she isn’t compiling lists. She has been recognized for her work on behalf of the LGBTQ community by the Westchester County Legislators and is a member of Cornell University’s esteemed President’s Council of Cornell Women and Cornell University Council. In the POLITICO 50: The Weekly List project, Amy was named.
Amy was an early adopter of the distressed debt trading industry on Wall Street. She led trading divisions at Morgan Stanley and Imperial Capital, where she was also a partner, before becoming the first female Managing Director at Wasserstein Perella at the age of 31. Her undergraduate degree is in economics from Cornell University, and her graduate degree is in finance and international business from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
The first 52 weeks of lists were published in a book in March 2018 titled “The List: A Week-by-Week Reckoning of Trump’s First Year.” Siskind released a podcast called The Weekly List in June 2018 to go along with the lists. The Library of Congress is archiving both the lists and the podcast The Weekly List.
If you’re looking for an authority on the distressed debt trading market, look no further than Siskind, a pioneering specialist, and executive on Wall Street. In 1996, at the age of 31, she became the first female Managing Director at Wasserstein Perella & Co. She went on to head trading departments at Morgan Stanley and Imperial Capital, where she was also a partner. After 20 years on Wall Street, Siskind called it quits in 2006.
While campaigning for Clinton’s re-election to the United States Senate in 2006, Siskind brought her daughter to see Clinton, who she had supported in the previous election cycle. Siskind co-founded The New Agenda in her living room in August 2008 with 30 other Hillary Clinton supporters who claimed sexism and misogyny played a role in that year’s election.
